Lessons From Fukushima

Almost one year after the Fukushima nuclear disaster began, Arnie Gundersen co-authored this report to address what lessons could be learned from the on-going catastrophe.  The key causes lie in the institutional failures of political influence and industry-led regulation. The report concludes that this nuclear accident marks the end of the ‘nuclear safety’ paradigm, and exposes the deep and systemic failure of the very institutions that are supposed to control and protect people from accidents.
